Maintenance of electric heating systems at the Atyrau Oil Refinery

A modern oil refinery is a complex of production and technological facilities, encompassing dozens of kilometers of pipelines and cable routes. These systems require constant year-round monitoring and qualified maintenance, as any malfunction in their operation can lead to disruptions in crucial processes, potentially causing emergency shutdowns of the entire oil refining complex. Ensuring the continuity of technological processes and protection against freezing are top priorities.

In our project portfolio, we particularly highlight our successful experience in servicing a vital life support system at the largest oil refinery in Kazakhstan. This specifically refers to the electrical heat tracing system, an intricate complex consisting of hundreds of kilometers of specialized heating cables, power cable lines, cabinets, substations, control elements (various sensors, temperature-regulating equipment, information processing, and communication devices), and other components.

The electrical heat tracing system is applied to the following objects:
  • Pipelines for oil transportation: inter-field, inter-platform, etc.
  • Drain-filling pipelines in oil-loading terminals.
  • Pipelines of pump transfer stations.
  • Pipelines with shut-off and regulating equipment and pumping facilities in oil refining industry enterprises (valves, gates, valves, filters, pumps, etc.).
  • Impulse lines (for instrumentation and measurement equipment).
  • Pipelines of tank farms and oil depots (connecting pipelines for vertical and horizontal tanks storing oil products).
As part of the service maintenance, our company, 'BRIK,' performed diagnostics, identified, and restored the functionality of numerous faulty heating lines. In addition to routine and repair work, a comprehensive inspection of the electrical heat tracing system was conducted, including detailed documentation of the hardware components.

All work was performed using state-of-the-art equipment and tools, ensuring compliance with all necessary safety requirements.
